We currently have an opening for a Project Engineer at our fast-paced, team-focused, unionized manufacturing facility located in Fremont, Michigan.
POSITION
Summary:
Provide technical leadership by identifying, developing and executing continuous improvement engineering projects for the Plant.
PRIMARY
Responsibilities:
Responsible for initiating, planning, developing, designing, bidding, procurement, implementation and completion of capital projects in alliance with Nestle Continuous Excellence.
Provide direction for departments, cross-functional teams and external vendors.
Provide technical support to Factory operations. Manage data collection and feedback process for projects.
Develop project objectives, scope, detailed work plans, schedules, project estimates, resource plans, budgets, and status reports.
Maintains control, assesses project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals.
Using the DMAIC process, will perform analysis (financial/operational) to indicate the feasibility of projects and process change while controlling costs within budget and time parameters set.
Monitors processes for compliance with quality and GMP requirements in accordance with FDA and OSHA regulations.
All employees will support and participate in Nestl Continuous Excellence (NCE) and Total Performance Management (TPM) as a part of their job responsibility within their Business Unit or as assigned within the factory.
Employee shall follow Fremont Factory safety & environmental objectives & targets, follow the plant safety rules, report unsafe conditions immediately, report incidents immediately or by the end of the shift, maintain compliance with regulations, and refer to the Safety & Environmental Management System(s) on all related procedures and programs.
REQUIREMENTS AND MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL LEVEL:
A Bachelor s Degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.
Experience:
Must have a BS/BA degree in engineering with 2-3 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience. Preferred experience in food manufacturing and liquid/aseptic process. TPM experience preferred as well.
SKILLS:
Strong analytical and conceptual thinking skills
Ability to analyze data
Ability to using problem solving techniques to resolve issues and implement change
Excellent communication (both verbal and written) and interpersonal skills.
Proven ability to complete major projects in a manufacturing environment.
Ability to schedule resources effectively so continuous improvement is not sacrificed for day to day results.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
