Gerber Products Company dba Nestl? Infant Nutrition is seeking a Packaging Project Manager at our Fremont, MI facility.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Packaging Project Manager is responsible for coordinating and leading packaging initiatives in the Nutrition Division including: 1) new product introductions, 2) new packaging concepts, 3) renovation and innovation of packaging components, 4) trials including quality improvements and cost saving initiatives, 5) maintenance of existing specifications for packaging components. Actively seek new packaging concepts which will lead to a competitive advantage and identify and support cost reduction opportunities. Provide technical assistance to various internal departments to support business goals. Ensure that all Meals & Drinks packaging systems provide adequate protection and preservation of product quality, conform to marketing and marketplace requirements, and are optimized with respect to cost, labor, machinery, handling and transport. Develop and maintain relationships with other Nestl? divisions and vendors.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide Project Management leadership for the renovation and innovation of packaging materials and systems requested by Marketing, North America Procurement, Nestle HQ, and Factory Operations. Act as a packaging liaison between Corporate and Factory functional teams.
Continuously improve/optimize current packaging and processes within factories and external manufacturers according to local business needs. Lead technical projects including technical assistance, sourcing, quality improvements, compliance, and productivity cost savings. This includes establishing and managing timelines, uncovering roadblocks, defining critical paths, and identifying resource constraints.
Provide first line support to factories by acting as the coaching and training resource for packaging process mastership and providing knowledge transfer related to packaging mastership to eliminate the root cause of assistance requests
Ensure adherence to all packaging standards. Comply with Nestl? requirements (includes Sustainability, Packaging Safety), external standards, and local regulatory framework. Identify, influence, and lead the development of market level packaging standards within the Nestl? systems.
Develop expertise for product/packaging/process mastership within TAG. Define, develop, and coach the competencies and training materials required for product/packaging/process mastership to enable manufacturing excellence.
Provide guidance and input to Operations for Standard Operating Procedures.
Continuous improvement of technical skills and personal development. Provide coaching & mentorship to others to facilitate personal professional development.
Qualifications
REQUIREMENTS AND MINIMUM EDUCATION LEVEL:
B.S. Packaging Engineering, Packaging Science, or similar technical degree.
Experience with aseptic, retort, hot-fill, and dry filling processes desired.
Experience with a broad range of packaging formats, materials (flexible films, rigid containers, paperboard, corrugate, etc?), and packaging performance tests is a plus
8 - 10+ years of applicable industry experience
Travel estimated at 25% (project dependent)
SKILLS:
Strong project management skills and ability to lead project teams.
Excellent organization, oral and written communication skills.
Takes initiative; Self-starter requiring minimal direct supervision.
Ability to work well with others (team player).
Creative/independent thinking and results focused.
Proficient with MS Project, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Understanding CAPE & SAP desired
Experience with aseptic, retort, hot-fill, and dry filling processes is desired

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
